Originally from Ireland, Anne’s art is just stunning.

Born and raised on a picturesque island in Co Kerry Ireland, I have always had a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the land and seascapes that surrounded me. This love for the natural world led me to develop a passion for painting from a young age. However, life’s demands such as work and raising a family kept me from indulging in this passion for many years.

During the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, I finally found the time to get my paints out and start creating. I am self-taught, and I am constantly experimenting with new techniques and styles to capture the essence of the landscapes that have inspired me for so long. My paintings are a reflection of the deep connection I have with my childhood homeland and my home in West Sussex and are a way for me to share that beauty with others. I am excited to continue my journey as an artist and to see where my passion for painting will take me. I believe that art is a powerful tool that can bring people together and bring a sense of peace and beauty to the viewer.

As an artist, I primarily paint from a combination of photographs, memories, and imagination. I find that using photographs as a reference helps me to capture the details and colours of the landscapes that have inspired me. However, I also rely heavily on my memories and imagination to add my own unique perspective and emotions to my work. I often take elements from different landscapes, such as a sky from one place, a beach from another, and hills, trees, and fields from yet another, and blend them together to create my own unique vision. This allows me to create new landscapes that are not bound by the limitations of any specific location. I believe that this combination of reference and personal interpretation is what gives my paintings a sense of emotion.

Through my paintings, I hope to share my passion for the natural world and the emotions it evokes in me.
